When you need Assistance Some situations require the skills and independence that can only be found outside of the organisation. Often these involve some kind of conflict but can also arise in situations such as redundancy and in building team cohesion and effectiveness. From Talking to Action The provision of independent and confidential support to individuals – an active form of mentoring that recognises that instrumental advice needs to be given. Different from counselling this type of support seeks to educate and help deal with the actual issues facing the individual. This breaks the vicious cycle of blame and counter accusation. Difficult but done with a light touch this form of support has organisational wide benefits particularly in breaking down the walls between departments and instilling the value of co-operation. |
